Inventory view of a Corundum Ingot.

For other uses, see Ingots.

Ingots can be created by melting ore at a smelter. Ore can also be purchased from most blacksmiths, such as Alvor in Riverwood. Ingots can then be used to create weapons and armor, depending on one's Smithing level.

Unlike most ores which are a fraction of the requirement of an ingot, each type of Dwarven scrap provides at least two ingots. For the specific rate of conversion for each type, see smelting Dwarven ingots.

  • Smelting ore into ingots does not yield Smithing experience, as would crafting or improving weapons or armor.
  • The chests at the top of the guard towers near the Riften Stables always possess a random ingot.
