The Inner Sea, also known as the Vvardenfell Rift,[1] is a large body of water in the province of Morrowind. It surrounds the island of Vvardenfell, cutting it off from mainlaind Morrowind regions of Stonefalls and Bal Foyen to the south and the Telvanni Peninsula to the east.[2] Most of the population of Vvardenfell lives along the coastline surrounding the island, particularly the west and southwest coasts.[3] On the mainland, the cities of Blacklight, Ebonheart, Davon's Watch, Firewatch can be found on the coast of the Inner Sea.
The book 36 Lessons of Vivec, Sermon 36 claims that the Dwemeri High Priest Kagrenac created a "walking star, which burnt the armies of the Triune and destroyed the heartland of Veloth, creating the Inner Sea." [4]
