The Isle of Gold[1] is an area consisting of three small islands in Lake Honrich, outside of Riften.

History[]

During the Second Era, a bard training institute known as Skald's Retreat was found on the Isle. Jorunn the Skald-King studied here during around 2E 546, prior to becoming High King.[1] In 2E 582, the institute was cursed with endless nightmares by the Supernal Dreamers, who sought to merge it with the Quagmire. This was later stopped by the Vestige, and the curse was broken.[2]

During the Fourth Era, the Black-Briar Family used honey produced on the isle for their Mead. The beehives were managed by Goldenglow Estate, which was owned by Aringoth. In 4E 201, the Last Dragonborn later burned down a number of the beehives as a task for the Thieves Guild.[3]
