The Key to Dementia is the key to open the gate to Dementia. It is acquired when going through the quest "Through the Fringe of Madness," when the Hero finds out it is sewn into the flesh of the Gatekeeper.

The key is a quest item, and will stay in the player's inventory. It cannot be removed unless console commands are used.
