Kluwe, who went by Loate when hiding his face, was a Nede warrior. He was one of the Five Hundred Companions.

Kluwe was part of Jorrvaskr crew, commanded by Jeek of the River.

After reaching Mereth and reclaiming Saarthal, Kluwe and his crew went south to the area that is now known as Whiterun Hold. They settled there, making Kluwe to be among the first people who lived in Whiterun.
