Not to be confused with Kotaro.

Kota is the Argonian interpretation of Padomay, and one of the two components of Atakota.[1]

In the beginning, there was only Atak, who knew of nothing but itself, so it decided to be everything. Atak began to grow to fill up the nothing. eventually, Atak met the serpent Kota, who had also been growing. Since Kota had grown a mouth, it was hungry. Atak put its roots through Kota's eyes, but since Kota had fangs, it bit Atak. Atak learned hunger from this, and bit Kota back. Many things came to be from this struggle. It lasted for so long that eventually they forgot that they were fighting, so they shed their skin and severed their roots and became Atakota.[1]

Eventually, as the spirits tore at Atakota's skin and drank its blood, Atakota broke back into Atak and Kota, and the conflict between the two began anew, though they had now learned about death, so there was a lot of violence. From Atak's sap then came the stones, and Kota's blood made up the oceans. The Shadow of Atakota awakened, and since it was bigger than Atak or Kota individually, it decided to eat them both.[1]
