"By the Eight... you actually got your hands on it! This alone is worth more than some thieves earn in a lifetime."
Delvin Mallory[src]

The Left Eye of the Falmer is a larceny target found in Irkngthand. It has been a desired item by the leaders of the Thieves Guild in Skyrim for years, but they have never been able to get near it.

Acquisition[]

It can be looted from Mercer Frey's body along with the Right Eye of the Falmer during the quest "Blindsighted" and its only use is to be sold to Delvin Mallory for gold.

After it has been sold to Delvin, it will be on a bookshelf near the Thieves Guild vault in The Ragged Flagon - Cistern. It may then be taken by the Dragonborn for them to keep, without penalty.

Bugs[]

This section contains bugs related to Left Eye of the Falmer. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  /  PS5  ,  XS  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  •  PC   360   PS3   Oftentimes when this item is looted from Mercer Frey's body, the quest to deliver it to Delvin may not activate, and he won't take it. When this occurs, the eye is not marked as a quest item, making it droppable, storable, or sellable, becoming just like the right eye.
  •  PC   Using the console, the Dragonborn can enter: SetStage TGlarceny 80 to give themselves the quest to return the Left Eye to Delvin, then add the Eye to their inventory with the console: player.additem 1994f 1. Then return to Delvin Mallory to turn in the quest. Do not loot the Left Eye on Mercer before turning the quest in; the quest simply disappears (it completes the quest itself) from the journal as soon as you loot the Left eye off the body. (Bug reason: the code written for the left eye of the Falmer apparently is "completes quest" instead of "starting quest")
  •  360   The Dragonborn can escape Irkngthand without taking the Eye, take the rest of their items back to Delvin, sell them, and go back to get the Eye off of Mercer's body.
