For other uses, see Mages Guild.

The Mages Guild is a joinable faction in The Elder Scrolls Online.

Players may join the Mages Guild regardless of their Alliance, much like the Fighters Guild, as they have not taken sides in the Alliance War in Cyrodiil.

Reputation with the Mages Guild can be increased by collecting special lore books in Alliance territory and in Cyrodiil. The Mages Guild questline revolves around the Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath.

The Mages Guild has headquarters in the region of Rivenspire in High Rock, and The Rift in Skyrim.

Quests[]

To begin quest for the Mages Guild, the Vestige must complete on of the three invitations quests offered in the first non-tutotial zone of each alliance. Upon joining, there are two types of Mages Guild quests: the main questline and repeatable quests. The main Mages Guild questline is a series of quests related to a bargain made between Arch-Mage Shalidor and Sheogorath. Each main quest occurs sequentially in one of each alliance's zones, its equivalent zones in the other alliances having the same quest available. For example, the first quest, "Long Lost Lore," is available in Auridon, Glenumbra, and Stonefalls. Prior to the One Tamriel update, each quest was only available in zones belonging to the player's alliance. During repeatable quests, the Vestige is tasked with recovering a madenning artifact of Sheogorath in a specified alliance zone.
