Miraak's Sword is a unique, leveled one-handed sword found in The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn. It has the second lightest weight and the highest base damage of any one-handed sword available, more powerful than both Chillrend and the dragonbone sword by one point.
When the weapon is swung, the blade takes the shape of a tentacle and appears to grow in length, however this effect is purely cosmetic and does not appear when the weapon runs out of charge. Regardless if charged or not, the tentacles on the sword will constantly writhe around the blade, while it glitters in a dampened green shine. A green eye is found at the base, near the hilt.
Acquisition
Miraak's Sword can be looted from the skeletal remains of Miraak, along with his staff and outfit, upon his death at the conclusion of the quest "At the Summit of Apocrypha".
Enchantment
The weapon bears the following enchantment:
- Absorb Stamina: 15 points.
When this weapon runs out of charges, the tentacle effect will stop working. The charge of Miraak's Sword is incredibly small as even a petty soul gem is enough to charge it completely. Soul Siphon on the Enchanting skill tree fully recharges the enchantment, even from a fully depleted state, with souls Common and higher. Petty and Lesser soul enemies recharge the sword to half.
Smithing
Miraak's Sword can be upgraded at a grindstone with an ebony ingot, a Daedra heart and the Arcane Blacksmith perk. It also benefits from the Dwarven Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.

Bugs
This section contains bugs related to Miraak's Sword. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:
|
- Template:360 PS3 When hitting an enemy which would not normally bleed, i.e. Animunculi, blood may still appear.
- PC Sometimes, the tentacle animation effect will stop working after an attack, even though the enchantment is still charged. Sheathing and unsheathing fixes this, until it happens again.
