Mucianus Allias was a member of the Mages Guild that worked undercover within cults of Necromancers. While some members of the guild didn't trust him being undercover with the necromancers, he was a loyal member of the guild.
Biography[edit | edit source]
When the ban on Necromancy was set in place, many members of the mages guild left and became a problem for the guild. Mucianus, seeing the threat in this occurrence offered to go under cover and report the actions of the necromancers to the mages guild. With the blessing of Hannibal Traven, Macianus went under cover keeping to his word and proved to be a useful asset to the guild.
Fate[edit | edit source]
At some point, his cover was blown and he was discovered to be a spy for the Mages Guild. He was then tortured and killed, being reanimated into a zombie to serve as an example to the guild, he was left in a back room of Nenyond Twyll to be found.
When his reports stopped coming in, Hannibal feared the worst and sent a group of battle-mages to Nenyond to find and recover their asset. However, soon after sending them, Hannibal feared that the mages would mistreat Mucianus or see him as a necromancer and kill him. In order to try and prevent this he sent a newer member to the guild he felt he could trust to find Mucianus and safely return him home.
By the time the new recruit arrived, only one of the battle-mages, Fithragaer, were left, and despite their effort to save Mucianus, it was too late. All that was left of the former informant was his reanimated body wandering around the small room the necromancers had left him in.
Interactions[edit | edit source]
Traven asks that an informant, Mucianus Allias, in the Ayleid Ruin of Nenyond Twyll needs to be found and rescued. He wants the Hero to arrive as soon as possible before the Imperial Battlemages reach the scene and botch the job.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- His surname, "Allias," appears to be a pun on the word alias, which means to have an alternate or secret identity. Fitting, since he served as an undercover operative for the Mages Guild.
- Killing Mucianus will not harm the Hero's reputation or standing with the guild in any way. Unlike most undead, he is not aggressive; he will not attack unless provoked.
- Fithragaer believed that Mucianus had turned on the Guild and informed the necromancers of the guild's plans.
