Nelrene's Ceremonial Shortsword is a unique item owned by the Dark Seducer Nelrene. Ma'zaddha is taking care of the sword in his house; he is supposed to give it to Anya Herrick, but she refuses to take it.

Lady Syl claims everyone around her is plotting to kill her and take over her throne. She sends the Hero to Herdir, the court's enthusiastic torturer. She wants the Hero to find those who are conspiring against her. The sword is used as evidence that Nelrene is part of the conspiracy to take over Syl's throne.
