Neugrad, Neugrad Watch, or Fort Neugrad is a fortified settlement located near the southern border of Skyrim, near the Pale Pass and the Jerall Mountains. Neugrad is the regional stronghold of Falkreath.

Geography[]

Neugrad is located on the road between the Pale Pass and the town of Helgen, meaning it is situated in the Northern Jerall Mountains, amidst the hardened-winter. The town is completely isolated and serves mainly as the military bulwark of Falkreath Hold, the southernmost hold in Skyrim. The nearest towns to Neugrad are the township of Oakwood and the city of Bruma in the south.

Third Era[]

During the Imperial Simulacrum from 3E 389 to 3E 399, Emperor Uriel Septim VII was imprisoned along with Talin Warhaft in the Deadlands by Jagar Tharn. Tharn planned for months to capture the throne, and he was able to achieve so in the span of ten years. Tharn had a powerful weapon called the Staff of Chaos, and he split it into nine pieces and scattered them across Tamriel, the staff was the only thing keeping Uriel Septim and Warhaft in Oblivion. A warrior escaped his clutches and traveled all corners of Tamriel to retrieve the missing pieces. The hero was known as the Eternal Champion, and he assembled the staff and defeated Jagar Tharn at the Imperial Palace. The Eternal Champion had at one point visited the town of Neugrad Watch in their quest to recover the pieces.[1]

Fourth Era[]

During the Skyrim Civil War in 4E 201, Fort Neugrad served as a military bulwark for the city of Falkreath and the Imperial Legion located within the hold. The Imperial Legion in Falkreath was under the administration of Legate Skulnar. Fort Neugrad was used to garner a hold within Falkreath Hold and however gained control of it, had control over Falkreath Hold. When the war was going slowly, the stronghold was under the control of Bandits in the region, governing the road in between Bruma and Helgen. The Stormcloak Rebellion had at one point took control of Fort Neugrad, to gain a holding within Falkreath.[2]
