Nix-Hounds are medium-sized arthropods somewhat resembling hounds native to the province of Morrowind. They hunt in packs and generally inhabit the badlands of Morrowind. They have also been known to be captured and domesticated in Morrowind by bandits and others of that sort, whether for the purpose of combat, guards, entertainment, or simply as pets. They are carnivores and cause many problems for the common people of Morrowind. The meat of Nix-Hounds is known to be tender and sweet.[source?]

Origin[]
Nix-Hounds were originally created by one of the God-Kings of the Tribunal, Vivec, as instruments of war. They were used by Morrowind to hunt Dreughs, in a "time-lost campaign against the Altmer of the sea."[UL 1] It can be assumed that they were let free or escaped, and thereby began to populate the province.
