Novice Mortar and Pestle is an Alchemy Apparatus found in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The Novice version of this item is the least valuable and adds the smallest amount of bonuses to potions and poisons brewed with it.

- Every Mages Guild contains several duplicates of this item.
- The first Novice Mortar and Pestle encountered can be found in the Imperial Prison Sewer, on a table, near a dead goblin. It is involved in the Alchemy tutorial.
Trivia
- There are two separate Item IDs for the Novice Mortar and Pestle. The only difference is that one causes the tutorial script to appear when used for the first time.
- The real-life equivalent of the mortar and pestle was used by apothecaries to produce medicines.
