The Order of the Dragon was an illustrious order of knights founded by the first emperor of the Empire of Tamriel, Tiber Septim. Being accepted into the Order was considered an immensely high honor; it seemed that one could only be accepted into the Order by the emperor himself or an extremely high ranking Imperial official, such as the High Chancellor of the Elder Council.
The highest rank one could achieve in the Order was that of Champion of Cyrodiil. By the end of the Third Era, only seven Champions had been awarded, possibly including the mysterious Eternal Champion, and certainly including the Hero of Kvatch, the most recent Champion to be named.
