Paralysis is an alchemical effect in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Targets who fail to resist remain paralyzed for a duration, depending on the strength of the poison.

Since both Canis Root and Swamp Fungal Pods are common across Hjaalmarch, it is an ideal place to search for anyone seeking to make paralysis poison.

Poison of Paralysis is one of the most expensive single-effect solutions in the game, and is thus useful for leveling Alchemy.
Using the Poisoned perk in the Pickpocket skill tree, any paralysis poison can be placed into an NPC's inventory to paralyze them, and any item even items with 0% chance to steal can be taken from them. This is especially useful for skill trainers, after giving them high amounts of Gold that cannot normally be stolen back.

If the Dragonborn hits the ground from a long fall while paralyzed, they take zero damage.
Using a paralysis spell on a character, while they use a spin attack with a one handed sword, may send them flying and spinning into the air.
