Prologue Quests

Prologue quests are quests in The Elder Scrolls Online that serve as introductory stories to the larger story content of new zones added by chapters and DLC. Prologues precede the release of new chapters and DLCS to set up the narrative and establish the context for events that will take place in a new zone. There are a total of 36 prologue quests, and some zones have multiple prologue quests that continue on from the other, while others only have a single prologue quest. Prologue quests were first introduced in the lead up to Online: Morrowind for the story that would take place in Vvardenfell and, since then, every new zone has had an associated prologue. Prologue quests are included in the base game of Online, can be played without owning the associated chapter or DLC, and can be started at any time either by a specific quest giver or directly for free from the Crown Store.
