"Balreth has done its job. The Covenant has been driven from Davon's Watch! Now to put it back where it belongs: in the depths of Ash Mountain."
―Tanval Indoril[src]

Quiet the Ringing Bell is a quest in The Elder Scrolls Online, available right after the completion of "City Under Siege" from Tanval Indoril outside of Indoril Manor in Davon's Watch.

BackgroundEdit

With the Covenant driven from Davon's Watch, Tanval Indoril has asked me to return the living weapon known as Balreth to its cell.

ObjectivesEdit

WalkthroughEdit

Talk to Tanval Indoril outside Indoril Manor. He will say that Balreth needs to be put back to the Ash Mountain now that it successfully drove away the Daggerfall Covenant from Davon's Watch.

City Under Siege Tanval

Tanval Indoril, outside Indoril Manor in Davon's Watch's north end.

"Balreth has done its job. The Covenant has been driven from Davon's Watch! Now to put it back where it belongs: in the depths of Ash Mountain."

What needs to be done? "I'm not exactly sure. I made use of ancient rites and secret lore to wrench him from his cell. You saw the conclusion of my efforts. My able son Garyn even now works to return him to his slumber. He will guide your hand."
Where should I go? "You'll find Garyn west of the city, on the slopes of Ash Mountain. I sent a detachment of soldiers with him to ensure his safety I'm certain he already knows what needs to be done."
I'll report to Garyn, then. "You've done well here, soldier. You're a credit to the Pact. I'm certain you'll be of use to my son."
Can you tell me more about Balreth? "Balreth is one of two ancient magical juggernauts, the Brothers of Strife. Their story is too long to tell now. It is enough that Balreth is a powerful weapon at our command."

After speaking with Tanval, head to Ash Mountain, where Garyn Indoril is waiting and talk to him to complete the quest.

Garyn Indoril Dialogue

Tanval Indoril.

"Good to see you here, soldier. We'll need all the help we can get."

Your father told me to report to you. "And I'm glad he did. Balreth, it seem, does not want to go quietly back into his cage."

JournalEdit

Journal Entry
I should head west of Davon's Watch to Ash Mountain. There I should be able to find Tanval's son Garyn, who is already working to return the creature to the depths of the volcano.
