There are ten races that the player can choose from in character creation. They can be divided into three different categories: men, mer, and beastfolk. The following is a list of playable races in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind:

Each individual in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is born with the abilities arcording to the race chosen:

Trivia[]

  • Morrowind was the first game that allowed the player to play as an Orc or an Imperial.
  • Running speed is directly influenced by weight, unlike in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
  • Height influences the speed with which a character moves upwards or downwards while swimming or levitating.
