- ―In-game description[src]
The most naturally talented warriors in Tamriel, the dark-skinned Redguards of Hammerfell seem born to battle, though their pride and fierce independence of spirit makes them more suitable as scouts or skirmishers, or as free-ranging heroes and adventurers, than as rank-and-file soldiers. In addition to their cultural affinities for many weapon and armor styles, Redguards are also physically blessed with hardy constitutions, resistance to poison and disease, and quickness of foot.
Redguards hail from the province of Hammerfell. They have descended from a long line of warriors and mystic seers. Legend has it that Redguards are innately more proficient at weapons than any other race. They are excellent in all arts concerning blade and shield.

Special abilities[]
Usage[]
Warrior[]
Because of the Redguards natural skills and attributes the Redguard makes an exceptional warrior of any variety being able to use any melee weapon to a better extent than many of the other races. Their higher Strength and Endurance make them a good choice for this class. They are naturally distrustful of magic, especially necromancy, Illusion and Conjuration.
Rogue[]
Because of their bonuses to Athletics, Blade, Light Armor and Mercantile, Redguards make excellent Rogues. Due to their high Strength, they are able to carry a lot of loot, which will help the player to make more money, and a high endurance permits them to not fully rely on Light Armor to cope with heavy damage. Depending on the playstyle you like to use, you will have to choose whether you want your character to be male or female. A male character allows for more Strength, and will be stronger in combat. Female characters on the other hand, will grant the player a higher Personality, which allows them to buy and sell items for better prices, and helps the player to develop the merchant aspect of the Rogue class. This goes to show that even though Redguards are generally considered to be one-sided, they can be very versatile with the right perks.
Barbarian[]
Redguards also make decent Barbarians due to their racial bonuses to Strength, Blade, Blunt, Light Armor, and Athletics, but they do suffer from the lack of boosts to Block and Armorer, and female Redguards do not get a Strength bonus at all. Their racial ability Adrenaline Rush makes up for these weaknesses to a certain degree, because it temporarily buffs the Redguard's Strength, Endurance, Agility, Health, and, the Barbarian's most valuable tool: Speed. This allows a Redguard Barbarian to charge into combat and quickly dispatch any foes who stand in his way.
Trivia[]
- The default voice for Redguard males was done by Michael Mack, reprising his roles from Morrowind and Redguard.
