"Eugh, your breath is terrible! What have you been eating?"
Hold Guard

The Ring of Namira is obtained after finishing The Taste of Death, which can be started by talking to Eola, in the Hall of the Dead in Markarth.

Acquisition

Verulus is located in front of the Hall of the Dead. In order to obtain the ring, the Dragonborn must eat the flesh of Verulus at the end of the quest.

Effects

The Ring of Namira grants the wearer a boost of +50 stamina, and allows you to feed on corpses which grants +50 health and health regeneration for 5 minutes. A bounty is acquired if a corpse is fed on in the presence of a guard.

Bugs

  • If you are wearing the Ring of Namira and receive the Cursed Ring of Hircine from Sinding during the quest Ill Met By Moonlight, you will forever be able to feed off of bodies and obtain +50 health and +50% health regeneration.
  •  PC   If you gain the ring from a console command and then gain a second one from the quest, both will no longer work.
  •  360   When wearing the Ring Of Namira and choosing to Feed on an important NPC after you killed them, they may come back to life later. Unknown if this is a glitch or a bug.
  • Players are able to feed on non-human NPCs such as ghosts, ice wraiths etc.
  • When feeding, shields will clip through the player's face.
  • While having Lycanthropy, you may not have the option to feed on corpses.
  • After eating a body the health bonuses will remain even if you remove the ring, until their duration expires as normal.
  • There is no sound effect for the eating animation the player "feeds" in 1st person. There is sound if "feed" is chosen in 3rd person.
  • Sometimes a glitch may occur where the player does not recieve the option to feed on a corpse. This is fixed by dropping the Ring of Namira and picking it up again.
