Septimus Signus' Outpost is a cave located in Winterhold. The outpost lies far in the north where the Sea of Ghosts is located. It is north of the College of Winterhold. Taking any item from the outpost while Septimus is alive will result in him becoming hostile.

- After the quest is completed, everything on Septimus' corpse and the book inside the puzzle room can be taken freely. However, everything else here will still be owned by Septimus, and must be stolen.

This section contains bugs related to Septimus Signus' Outpost. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

- If the Dragonborn is riding their horse and travel to the College, they can fall off the edge of the walkway and die.
- Rarely, the dialogue option will not appear when the Dragonborn is supposed to speak to Hermaeus Mora for the first time, which makes it impossible to get out of this location.
- This bug can only be fixed if a previous save is loaded.
- PS3 If the Dragonborn returns here after the quest is completed, the lexicon puzzle door may re-lock itself, making it inaccessible once again.
