The Silver Sword is a One-Handed weapon found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Locations
This sword is found almost exclusively on members of the Silver Hand, although one can be located in Castle Volkihar on the shelf above the Vampire Royal Armor. The Silver Hand members are frequently encountered on quests for the Companions, and the Silver Hand strongholds can be found at the following locations:
Effect
The Silver Sword's inherent effect increases its damage by 20 points when used against undead such as Draugr, Skeletons, Dragon Priests, Vampires, and re-animated corpses. Despite not being Undead, Werewolves and Werebears are also affected.
The effect is not considered an enchantment, so it is affected by the Elemental Fury shout and may be enchanted at an Arcane Enchanter to stack with its inherent ability, although the description "Especially effective against Undead" will remain.
Smithing
The Silver Sword cannot be crafted or upgraded at a grindstone.
Trivia
- The silver sword is noticeably smaller than most other one-handed swords.
- It bares a striking resemblance to the spanish sword Lobera, Which means "Sword of wolf-slayer".
Bugs
- PC 360 PS3 When putting two Silver Swords in the upstairs bedroom Weapon Rack in Proudspire Manor, the game will freeze. If you save immediately after putting them in, you can reload the save and find that you are holding an invisible Silver Sword. However, any equipped weapon will replace it, and therefore it can not be equipped again.
- 360 PS3 If the player has more than one Silver Sword in their inventory when they go to jail, additional swords will be added upon their release from jail. This also happens with Silver Greatswords.
- 360 PS3 If the player has a silver sword and one or more other types of swords that are enchanted, very rarely all weapons will have the uncharged enchanted aura an them.
- 360 PS3 Sometimes the blade loses its undead enchantment.
