Southern Elsweyr, also known as Pelletine, is a zone that appears in The Elder Scrolls Online: Dragonhold. It is an ancient kingdom that makes up the southern portion of Elsweyr. Southern Elsweyr suffers from the ravages of the Knahaten Flu and its subsequent purging flames, pirates, slavers, and now dragons, which are supported by the Order of the New Moon.

Background

"Also known as Pellitine, this land's complex history stretches back into antiquity. Long ago, Khajiiti aristocrats ruled the southern kingdoms with grace and refinement. Now, in the wake of the Knahaten Flu, criminals, Imperial remnants, and Khajiiti patriots all compete for the reins of power."

In 2E 577, following the Colovian Revolt, the Thirteenth Legion was sent by Emperor Varen Aquilarios to help restore Southern Elsweyr from the effects of the Knahaten Flu by defending the city as it rebuilt and helping to form a city council after the royal family had died. When the Empire effectively dissolved following the Soulburst and the beginning of the Planemeld, the Thirteenth Legion, popularly called the Shields of Senchal, remained as protectors of the city and, by extension, the region.

In 2E 582, following the reappearance of dragons in Elsweyr, the Order of the New Moon was established under the leadership of the dragon Laatvulon in service to Kaalgrontiid after he and his kin were released from the Halls of Colossus. The Order of the New Moon recruits throughout Southern Elsweyr, promising initiates who worship the "New Moon" the opportunity to escape their poverty and destitution.

Southern Elsweyr features a series of zone story quests and unrelated side quests. The zone story quests tie into the Season of the Dragon overarching storyline and carries on from Northern Elsweyr, but it is not necessary to complete the story quests for zones prior to those in Southern Elsweyr. Side quests are non-sequential and can be completed in any order, except where one carries on from another, and repeatable quests can be completed multiple times: weekly for arenas and trials and daily for all others. Note that the Epilogue for the Season of the Dragon requires the zone quests of both Northern and Southern Elsweyr to have been completed before it can be started.

Item Sets

Item sets are related armor and weapons that, when worn together, provide unique benefits. Overland sets can be acquired from world bosses, world events, delves, public dungeons and containers and as quest rewards; dungeon sets can be acquired from within group dungeons; monster sets can be acquired from the final boss of veteran group dungeons and Undaunted Enclaves; and crafted sets can be created at specific locations across the zone.

Skyshards

Six Skyshards can be found in Auridon totaling in two skill points. The zone guide provides clues as to the location of each Skyshard, but many can be found simply by exploring and watching for the distinctive pillar of light they emit. Skyshards will appear on the map and compass when the Vestige is close to one and will remain discovered on the map even if it was not collected.

Fish

Fish can be caught from fishing hotspots, ideally with the correct bait. Common fish will be caught most often while rare fish and alternative bait are rare catches. Each zone has unique rare fish than can be caught from hotspots. Slaughterfish and trodh can be caught from foul hotspots, dhufish and longfin can be caught from saltwater hotspots, silverside perch and spadetail can be caught from lake hotspots, and salmon and river betty can be caught from river hotspots. Chub, minnow, shad and fish roe can be caught and used as bait from foul, saltwater, lake and river hotspots, respectively. There are no lake sources in Southern Elsweyr.
