Spell Absorption is a magical effect and a spell. It provides a chance that incoming spells will be absorbed, replenishing a quantity of Magicka that is equal to the Magicka cost of the spell being absorbed. This effect's magnitude directly corresponds to the percent chance that a spell will be absorbed. It is a member of the Mysticism school of magic, governed by Willpower.

As with Dispel, there is no differentiation made between positive and negative effects. Any incoming spell effects, including cures and blessings from a shrine, can be absorbed.


The magnitude of multiple Spell Absorption effects are not added; two effects of fifty percent each does not provide one hundred percent absorption. Instead, there are two separate and successive instances providing a fifty percent chance each.

If used in combination with other effects, Spell Absorption generally takes priority. Effects are processed in the following order: Spell Absorption, Reflect, Resist Magicka.
