- For other uses, see Steel Armor.
Steel Armor is a piece of heavy armor and part of the steel armor set found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is available in two variants - with and without pauldrons. However, their statistics are identical.
Locations[]
Unenchanted armor will begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 2 and enchanted variants can be found at level 3. These locations include:
- Blacksmiths and general goods merchants.
- Found as random loot in chests or as a world item.
- Worn by bandit chiefs and hired thugs.
Smithing[]
Steel armor requires the Steel Smithing perk to create. It can be forged at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
- 3 × Leather Strips
- 4 × Steel Ingots
- 1 × Iron Ingot
It can be upgraded with a steel ingot at a workbench and also benefits from the Steel Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.
