- For other uses, see Steel Dagger.
The Steel Dagger is a one-handed weapon found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is one of the most common weapons available.
Locations
Unenchanted steel daggers will begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 2 and enchanted daggers can be found at level 3. These locations include:
- During Unbound, if the Dragonborn follows Ralof, the Imperial Torturer will have one equipped.
- Blacksmiths and general goods merchants.
- Wielded by various characters or enemies, particularly on higher-level hostile mages.
- Found as random loot in chests or as a world item throughout Skyrim.
Variants
Smithing
Crafting the dagger requires the Steel Smithing perk. It can be forged at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
- 1x Leather Strip
- 1x Steel Ingot
- 1x Iron Ingot
It can be upgraded with a steel ingot at a grindstone and also benefits from the Steel Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.
