The Steel Helmet a piece of heavy armor and part of the steel armor set found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It has identical stats with the Steel Horned Helmet.
Locations
Unenchanted helmets will begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 2 and enchanted variants can be found at level 3. These locations include:
- Can be found at the entrance to Swindler's Den on the floor, even at level 1.
- Blacksmiths and general goods merchants.
- Found as random loot in chests or as a world item.
- Worn by bandit chiefs and hired thugs.
Smithing
Steel armor requires a Smithing level of 20 and the Steel Smithing perk to create. It can be forged at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
- 2 × Leather Strips
- 2 × Steel Ingots
- 1 × Iron Ingot
It can be upgraded with a steel ingot at a workbench and also benefits from the Steel Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.
Trivia
- When equipped by an Argonian, the helmet has a much more elongated shape than when equipped by another race, in order for it to fit the Argonian's head.
