  •  PC   360   PS3   Upon completing this quest Aela may not give a follow up quest. Also, when trying to talk to any of the other Companions they will say that the Dragonborn is already doing a job for Aela and that it should be completed. There is no known solution to this bug.
  •  PC   360   PS3   If the quest is started after starting "Blood's Honor" (by talking to Kodlak Whitemane), the quest can not be completed after completing "Blood's Honor."
  •  PC   360   PS3   Sometimes the Radiant A.I. will choose a dungeon that has already cleared. In this case, it is possible the quest arrow leads to nothing and the quest cannot be completed without the use of PC console commands.
    •  PC   The console command setstage CR09 20 will advance the quest.
    •  PS3   This bug may be fixed by deleting the Skyrim Game Utility data, once done start the game and let the Version 1.5 patch redownload. Once done, continue the game and wait 30 game days. If done right the Silver Hand leader should be alive and killable now and the quest can be completed without further problems. Or, reload a save from before the Underforge ritual, and re-complete the quest "The Silver Hand." After completing that, Aela gives the "Striking the Heart" quest again and the location to assassinate the Silver Hand leader may be different.
    •  PS3   Another possible fix for this glitch is that if Heimskr and Fralia Gray-Mane are killed, the quest to talk to a Companions leader for work will activate. This leaves the quest "Striking the Heart" in the journal, unable to be completed.
    •  PS3   Another possible fix is to wait long enough that the game reloads the enemies in the dungeon the quest marker is in and it will reload with the Silver Hand leader among them. Worked in Valtheim Towers, unconfirmed in other locations. The Silver Hand leader should spawn in with several of the new bandits and upon killing them, the quest line should continue.
    •  360   The respawned enemies will appear but, for an unknown reason, killing them will not advance the quest.
