Yes and no, Yes they are aliens bc they were created by the Hist, elder trees that were not from the same realm than the Ehlnofey (ancestors of men and mer) Nirn was built by Anu from the fragments of the destroyed 12 worlds, the Ehlnofey were from one, and the Hist from other.
I noticed the resemblance with the reptilian aliens too but mostly with the snake-people from Robert Howards' books (King Kull, Conan, The Valley of the Worm)
Where does the knwoledge of their names come from? Any of you ever play Morrowind? Skin-in-Trees-Shae isn't exactly monosyllabic. Same goes for Big Head, Hides-His-Foot, Lord Cluttermonkey, Breech Star, Morning-Star-Steals-Away-Clouds, and a plethora of other Argonians.
One word: Badass. Edit
Seriously, Argonian is a badass class to choose. Also, has anyone else ever chose to be an Argonian and then tried to make him look like Reptile from MK? NOT EASY.
Argonians are good as thieves but don't have much endurance to fancy warriors, specially in Morrowind. But adored my Morrowind character for the way argonians walk in that game
Big Bang Edit
Ah... So THIS is what we would've looked like if the dinosaurs didn't get nuked by that big meteor! Interesting...

Anyone else notice a disparity here? The content of the page (excluding the history and culture) revolves mainly around Oblivion, yet all the images are Skyrim images. I think we need to do something about the races in general. One page for history/culture/general argonian stuff, then divide the game-specific stats and play styles off to Argonian (Oblivion) and Argonian (Skyrim). Maybe some day I'll end up doing it myself. Just thought it should be noted. --— Radical D (bother \ stalk) 04:45, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
Merge skyrim and oblivion Edit
But have 2 sections
A correction to the Skyrim article on Argonians. Arognian women also have breasts in Morrowind and Oblivion.
they have in Daggerfall too
