Permanently Missed? Edit

If I entered the Forgotten Vale Forest, killed the Falmer Warmonger that had Auriel's Shield, left the forest and came back later would the shield still be there even if that Falmer despawned? There's still a Falmer War Axe on the ground here.

The Base Armor Rating is much lower than 41

The shield rating of 41 that is listed on this wiki is incorrect. According to, the shield has an armor rating of only 32. While I am unsure of the exact armor rating for Auriel's shield, I do know that it is quite a bit lower than a daedric shield. Based on my game, with 100 smithing, 100 light armor, 100 heavy armor, the armor rating for a non-tempered Auriel's shield was 53 while a non-tempered daedric shield has an armor rating of 60. 13:13, July 28, 2012 (UTC)meowsy

Blocking Edit

It may be a glitch only for me, but about four blocks with the shield will level me up in block. I leveled up 5 times from a dual wielding forsworn before i killed him. can someone see if this works on their game? Thanks. Drapsmann (talk) 04:26, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

I had that too, I think it might have something to do with how it "absorbs" energy. If it's processing the damage in each strike twice for some reason, you could be racking up experience and thus leveling a lot faster. I might be totally wrong, but that makes some sense to me. If you missed Auriel's Shield Edit

If you killed the Falmer, left the area, and don't come back for a while, don't lose heart. The corpse will disappear BUT HIS SWORD AND AURIEL'S SHIELD WILL STILL BE THERE! It's only a matter of scouring the land in search of it. Lucky for me, it was next to a troll I killed. I located the corpse using the Detect Dead spell. —This unsigned comment is by (talkcontribs) . anybody know how to add this effect with console enchanting commands? —This unsigned comment is by (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

You have my shield, and my bow, and my...? Edit

A bow is a two hand weapon. Shield is one hand armor. Either he used both at once because he's a god, or he had a one hander weapon for use with the shield. Any idea what? --Azaram (talk) 11:34, September 30, 2014 (UTC)

Questionable imageEdit

Do we need the image of the alternate version of this shield in this article? --Ser Pouce-a-lot (talk) 20:15, March 26, 2015 (UTC)

I myself think its a fun little bit of information that they where going to make it an ebony shield by changed it.
If anything, we could add the image to trivia, and note that they changed its appearance.-Cheatcodechamp (talk) 20:23, March 26, 2015 (UTC)
