(How to keep Azura's Star (Spoiler warning))

I believe I have stumbled across an soul gem duplication bug with Azura's Star. When the star is the only soul gem in my inventory, it works as it should and there is nothing out of the ordinary to report. However, when it shares inventory space with full soul gems of other types, it tends to spawn a new full soul gem instead of filling itself. In other words, let's say you have the Azura's Star (empty) and five Grand Soul Gems (with Grand souls in each) and you kill and soul trap an enemy with a Grand Soul. While the expected result is to then have Azura's Star (Grand) and 5x Grand Soul Gem (Grand,) it tends to make a new gem instead, so you have Azura's Star (Empty) and 6x Grand Soul Gem (Grand.) Since Azura's Star cannot be used to make enchanted items, I would consider this an exploit. It's also ridiculously common; in the Lifting the Vale quest (full of Akaviri skeletons with Grand souls,) I kept having to drop soul gems I '''accidentally''' made because I do not wish to cheat. --[[User:68.35.130.224|68.35.130.224]] 06:22, 7 May 2006 (CDT)

It's also ridiculously common; in the Lifting the Vale quest (full of Akaviri skeletons with Grand souls,) I kept having to drop soul gems I accidentally made because I do not wish to cheat. --68.35.130.224 06:22, 7 May 2006 (CDT)

It's possible the new patch fixed this because I don't seem to have this issue --DragonWR12LB 13:27, 14 August 2006 (CDT)
