I've had my quest lock up due to me picking the book up before I got the quest. The book is stuck in my inventory and the damned orc won't recognize that I have it. Since it is a quest item, I can't drop it and pick it up again, which I'm sure would be the easiest way to fix it. Reading the book does nothing to fix the situation. 18:52, November 2, 2012 (UTC)

Update: Forgot to log in, above post is me. Note: I am on xbox360 so I can't use console commands to fix. Will try a bookcase to fix.Esparc (talk) 18:56, November 2, 2012 (UTC)

Don't know if this will work, but I've read about others saying by getting arrested and going to jail would remove quest items from your inventory and place them in the Evidence chest. You would have to break out of jail and retrieve your possessions minus the book, in order to get that book out of your inventory. All you can do is test it out and see if it works for you too. Oh, and when (because you will) you get caught for breaking out of jail, this time, just pay off the bounty. 19:05, November 2, 2012 (UTC)
Well, you don't have to break out of jail. When you spend your time in jail, you will be released and all of your belongings that were in the Prisoner Belongings Chest will be returned to you. Also, it is possible to break out of jail and sneak into the room where the chests are kept, having the perk Quiet Casting and the spell Invisibility will also work in your favor. And by the way, don't tell someone on Xbox that they will get caught breaking out of jail because they're not on PC or PS3. I've broken out of jail at a low level and I'm on Xbox. The idea is to NOT retrieve all your belongs from the chest. He doesn't want the Chimarvamidum book back in his inventory, so retrieving all possessions is not what I'm going for here. Anyways, I'm not saying that he will get right after trying to break out, but at some point he's going to want to go back to that hold and upon arrival he will get caught by a guard unless he's sneaking around the entire hold all the time. 20:03, November 2, 2012 (UTC)
Actually I just want the quest to update. It is frustating when it tells you to pick up something already in your inventory, especially when you can't drop it. It'll probably update when I take it from the belongings chest. I'll save first. Thanks for your input, I never get arrested so I kinda forgot they take all your stuff. 00:09, November 3, 2012 (UTC)
