Dragons Split Notes[]

This is where the stuff on this page came from:

  • Took the opening from the Dragons, maybe changed it slightly.
  • History: It comes almost totally from the two books I referenced heavily. I changed some of the wording to make it a bit more concise. There is one thing wrong with this section. There are examples of dragonlings but that page is locked so no one can change it.
  • Notable Dragons: I kinda made it, but it mostly comes from the referenced sources.
  • Notes: These notes come from the Dragons page and I thought they fit better here than on the Skyrim page, because they're not specifically Skyrim dragon notes.

Updated with new information[]

What about the Dragon (spoiler) that is encountered in the Dawnguard questline? Will he be added to the notable dragon list?

There was a dragon in Oblivion thus oblivion should be listen on the appearances section. 24.208.184.192 07:02, March 2, 2014 (UTC)

There was no dragon in Oblivion. The form that Akatosh takes on does not count. —Sky Above,Voice Within · Show thy Voice! 07:04, March 2, 2014 (UTC)

Expanded[]

Just making conspiracy theories here, but maybe the dragons in Atmora and the dragons from Akavir are two separate species, the former being kinder, more benevolent dragons, and the Akaviri dragons, after being driven out by the Tsaerci, became excessively violent, distrustful creatures, were well suited to being tyrannical overlords over Tamriel. All the dragons seen in Tamiel are of Akaviri origin, thus explaining their dominant and violent nature. Because the Atmorans were accustomed to the friendlier variety, that is why they were able to live so closely with them in Atmora, to the extent of dragon priests being a bridge, not a slave, for the dragons. When they arrived in Tamriel, the Akaviri dragons were nearly identical in appearance to the Atmoran dragons, and found themselves sucked into god hood by the Nords. All the dragons found it as a welcome change to the constant hunting of dragons in Akavir. That means that in Atmora, there are dragons that exceed even Parthunaax in kindness and compassion, creating a land where the Dragonborn and Blades would never be welcome, as they are renowned dragonslayers. In fact, due to the relation between Atmorans and dragons, it is possible that the Daedra hold no power there, being unable to overpower the combined forces of Atmoran armies and dragons in cooperation.

Reasons for leaving Akavir source?[]

I can't find the reference you used to infer that the tsaeci tried to 'consume' the dragons and that that in turn led them to leave to tamriel

I have no doubt there's a good source, I'd just like to know what it is
