Thassad II was the last Na-Totambu High King of Hammerfell during Tiber Septim's conquests.[1]

Background[]

High King Thassad was the ruler of Hammerfell during the last years of the Second Era. Thassad was described as being a keen and prudent ruler.[2]. Thassad repeatedly repelled Tiber Septim's attempted conquests of Hammerfell. With a greater war looming over Hammerfell Thassad and Baron Volag, leader of The Forebears signed a peace treaty to deal with the war. In 2E 862, Thassad died in Sentinel, due to natural causes[3] (however, some suspect that Volag poisoned him).

The death of Thassad II lead to the Hammerfell Civil War, where his son and only heir A'Tor fought against The Forebears for control of the province. Though initially having a triumphant lead in the war,[3] the Forebears allied with Tiber Septim, who led his Imperial Legions in their Conquest of Hammerfell and defeated A'Tor and the Crowns.[1][3][4]
