The Deadlands is a zone available in The Elder Scrolls Online: Deadlands. It is Mehrunes Dagon's realm of Oblivion and is directly connected to the adjacent realm of Fargrave that serves as the region's centralized civilian population center. The Deadlands is a realm of fire and desolation, with servants of Dagon, both Daedra and cultists, occupying virtually every area of the region.[1]

Background[]

""An ever-changing landscape of fire and storm, of disaster personified and unending destruction, this is the domain of Mehrunes Dagon, Prince of Destruction, Prince of Ambition and Lord of Flood and Flame. Behold its glory and bow before our Lord!"—Valkynaz Nokvroz"

The Deadlands, serving as the domain of Mehrunes Dagon, hosts the legions of the Prince of Destruction who prepares to invade his self-proclaimed birth right of Tamriel.[2] During the reign of the Longhouse Emperors, Dagon struck a deal to imbue his essence of four "Ambitions" that would grow in power. In 2E 582, he began executing his plan to reabsorb the power from the Ambitions and give himself the power to invade Tamriel with little opposition.[3]

With the Order of the Waking Flame and legions of Daedra preparing to enact the final phase of Dagon's plan, the adjacent realm of Fargrave is under constant threat, as the realm's universal proximity to all other places, including Nirn, has made it a target of the Prince of Destruction that would give him unprecedented reach throughout the Aurbis if it were to come under his control.[4]

Quests[]

Main article: Quests (Online)

The Deadlands features a series of zone story quests and unrelated side quests. The zone story quests tie into the Gates of Oblivion overarching storyline and carries on from Blackwood, but it is not necessary to complete the story quests for zones prior to those in the Deadlands. Side quests are non-sequential and can be completed in any order, except where one carries on from another, and repeatable quests can be completed multiple times: weekly for arenas and trials and daily for all others. Note that the Epilogue for the Gates of Oblivion requires the zone quests of both Blackwood and the Deadlands to have been completed before it can be started.
