===Rozty===

{{Info|Rozty}}

Hello everyone, I would like to apply for the position of patroller. After spending a while editing here, I believe I am qualified to handle such a role in the wiki. I have added content in a number of different pages, and am familiar with the style and formatting guidelines in place for them. I have been always keeping a close eye on the [[Special:Recentchanges|Recent Changes]], and I am able to respond to vandalism that might have gone unnoticed by reverting it and reporting it to the [[The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Vandalism in progress|VIP]] page. Using the tools provided for the patrollers, I will be able to do this even more efficiently.

I have also been editing different types of pages, and am familiar with the proper style for articles of different games and topics, as well as various templates and infoboxes. My edits are of a wide variety, as I do not focus on just adding only one type of content, so I am confident that I am able to quickly adjust any changes made by less experienced users, as well as easily recognize vandalism.

My activity has also remained pretty consistent, and I have not gone long without checking the latest changes in the RC. Moreover, I have guided users before, and have shown to be able to handle cases like these without any problems, being able to remain calm when the situation called for it. I am very active on the wiki's discord server as well, and can respond very quickly to any user problem when the need arises.

Because of these reasons, I feel that I am capable of handling the position.

====Support====

{{Support}} Rozty has been doing a great job with Recent Changes these past few months, and I've seen her become more and more proficient at catching vandalism and other non-desirable edits. She has a solid understanding of wiki policies and the style and formatting guidelines, and has done a good job talking to new users when they make errors. She's engaged with the community, particularly on the wiki's [https://discord.gg/R3DGnN4 Discord] server, but also with the [[TES:Moot|moots]] and on the [[TES:D|Discussions]]. The wiki is in need of some more patrollers right now, and I feel that Rozty is more than qualified for the position. —[[User:Atvelonis|Atvelonis]] ([[User talk:Atvelonis|talk]]) 00:18, August 5, 2018 (UTC)

{{Support}} A very competent editor without a doubt, and generally very friendly to users. Not only competent, but also very active. Doesn't back down from [[Generic Dialogue (Morrowind)|projects that are/were a pain to complete]], and is shown to be more than capable just in general. Total support from me. —[[User:Blademaster Jauffre|Blademaster Jauffre]] ([[User talk:Blademaster Jauffre|talk]]) 00:23, August 5, 2018 (UTC)

{{Support}} I have seen a lot of her edits that were focused on formating or reverting vandalism, especially on the pages that appear on [[Special:RecentChanges|Recent Changes]]. She is also one of the most frequent contributors to the [[The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Vandalism in progress|VIP page]]. I am sure that Rozty is worthy of this promotion and it would benefit the wikia. {{Support}} There isn't much i can say about her that hasn't been said already. With that said she has my support. [[User:The Cat Master|The Cat Master]] ([[User talk:The Cat Master|talk]]) 00:57, August 5, 2018 (UTC)

{{Support}} Rozty's editing abilities are spot on, to the point that she's corrected me a few times. She certainly patrols the RC already, so the tools would only further her ability to edit and contribute. {{User:Ottoman Hold/SigReal|01:38:39|August 05, 2018}}

{{Support}} Definitely does a better job than I do. Supporting for all the above. – [[User:The Crusader of Truth|The Crusader of Truth]] ([[User talk:The Crusader of Truth|talk]] – [[Special:Chat|chat]]) 02:55, August 5, 2018 (UTC)

{{VoteSupport}} In my half-arsed attempts to find recent vandals on RC, Rozty to my frustration has normally got there first. Note "half-arsed". We also need to someone to carry the patroller team. Rozty has been doing this admirably (thank you) without the rights, but its about time the proper tools were given for the job. Best of luck — [[User:Bronkiin|Bronkiin]] ([[User talk:Bronkiin|talk]]) 08:44, August 5, 2018 (UTC)

{{Support}} I refrained from voting until now because I'm not that active in the mainspace and I though that my vote wouldn't be that relevant, but I think that [[User:Rozty|Rozty]] diserves all my support for all the effort she has put into improving the wiki. For this reason, I would like to support her application. [[User:Amulet of Kings|Amulet of Kings]] ([[User talk:Amulet of Kings|talk]]) 22:03, August 11, 2018 (UTC)

{{Votesupport}}<nowiki>Rozty is extremely well at editing and corrects my errors whenever I make them. She is truly involved in the wiki and deserves the very best. ~~~~</nowiki>[[User:CatholicPrincess15|CatholicPrincess15]]

Patrollers are users granted the rollback tool to keep the wiki free of any vandalism. With a single click, they can revert edits. Patrollers must apply for their position, and be approved via a community consensus. Only bureaucrats are able to grant their rollback rights.

Duties and privileges

  • Watching the recent changes and checking edits for vandalism or edits that require stylistic fixes. They are responsible for reviewing edits made to all namespaces except for those on Forum:Index.
  • Reporting vandalism to the notice board or notifying an admin on their talk page. In the event that an admin is unable to block a vandal, place {{warning}} on the vandal's talk page. This may discourage further vandalism.
  • Patrollers are encouraged to add high traffic articles, good articles, and featured articles to their watchlist to help prevent vandalism.
  • Patrollers have the ability to move pages in the [[File:]] namespace. Images should be given names appropriate to their composition and should not contain an overabundance of numerical characters. File:2334234739784.png is discouraged, while File:Stormcloak Encampment.png is more meaningful and easier to locate.
  • Scout Special:NewPages for recently made articles that may not meet our style and formatting guidelines. Articles found here should be marked as patrolled after being reviewed, by scrolling to the bottom of the article and clicking [Mark this page as patrolled]. This link only appears if the page is opened through Special:NewPages. Before marking a page as patrolled, ensure it contains an infobox, wikilinks, and appropriate categories. Flag the page as a {{stub}} or as needing {{attention}} wherever applicable.
  • Maintain an overall mature and friendly demeanor when interacting with other editors.
  • Practice diplomacy when users make mistakes.
  • Pointing new users to policies and guidelines when necessary.
  • Remaining in contact with other staff through the wiki's official Slack channel.

Maintaining the rollback tool

  • Patrollers who have not edited in exactly 30 days are considered inactive, and will no longer be displayed as active on our staff list unless they can prove they have made a steady return.
  • Patrollers who have gone "rogue" and turned into obvious vandals will have their rollback tool removed automatically. They can petition to have it returned on the consensus track form.
  • Patrollers will not lose their rollback tool or their custodial tools of page patrolling and file renaming if marked as inactive, although the "yellow" coloration of their name is indefinitely revoked. To request that a user be relieved of their rollback tool due to abuse, please petition on the consensus track form. Format the request similar to the rollback nomination layout.

Activity chart

This chart of active admins and patrollers who engage in Recent Changes review will help to coordinate times of the week during which one or several of us are unavailable. Ideally, every day should be pretty evenly spread out in terms of availability. A regular day means that the user in question will review Recent Changes to the best of their ability, as usual; an "off-day" is simply one during which they know that they will be routinely unavailable. Staff should not feel pressured to check Recent Changes during these "off-days."

Requirements

  • Been actively contributing to the mainspace for a period of at least three months.
  • Possess a minimum of 2500 mainspace edits
  • Demonstrate superior editing skills in compliance with the current policies and style guidelines.
  • Practice diplomacy when users make mistakes.
  • Direct new and unaware users to policy and help pages.
  • Serve as a mentor and community role model.
  • Maintain an active presence on the wiki.

Exceptions to these rules can be made, but never assume you are the exception to the rules.

Applying

Nomination and Application archive

It is highly recommended that you speak with one or more current patrollers and an administrator about any interest you have in the position before you apply. This is not a requirement, but it is a good idea to seek the advice of experienced editors in order to gain a better understanding of what you would have to do for the job and if you are actually ready for it.

How to vote/example

EbonySkyrimTalkContribsEdit count

I nominate EbonySkyrim for the title of patroller. She has been with us awhile and she has been a help and pleasure the whole time. I have no doubt that she can handle this.
