Shortcut:
TES:SHORT

This is a TESWiki project reference page.

The complete list of available TESWiki shortcuts can be found at TES:LIST.

What is a TESWiki shortcut?Edit

"Shortcuts" in TESWiki are a specialized type of Redirection page that can be used to get to a TESWiki project reference page more quickly.

How to use TESWiki shortcutsEdit

A TESWiki shortcut can be entered into the TESWiki search box to quickly bring you to a reference page. It helps if you like the page or you are working on that page and it takes a long time to get to.

For example, you can type "TES:C" into the search box and click the "Go" button to get to the TESWiki "Copyrights" reference page, instead of having to type "The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Copyrights".

Alternatively, you can use the shortcut in the URL (web address). For example, you are currently viewing the The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Shortcut page in English. The URL is http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_Wiki:Shortcut. You could get from here to the The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Copyrights project reference page by replacing "The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Shortcut" with "TES:C" in the URL (web address) field (followed by "Enter").

Shortcuts are presented in all capital letters ("All-Caps"), but the search box is case-insensitive. For example, in the search box, you can type "tes:c" instead of "TES:C".

However, using the URL method typically requires that you match the capitalization of the shortcut.

TESWiki shortcut policyEdit

Reserved for TESWiki project reference pages (The Elder Scrolls Wiki: namespace) only.

Adding shortcut link boxesEdit

A shortcut link box (the "shortcut template") is added to the entry source ("Editing" page) using {{title-shortcut|TES:<x>}}.
For example, placing the shortcut template and substituting SHORT for <X> gives the template viewable at the top of the page: {{title-shortcut|TES:SHORT}}
