- "Children, listen as the shadows cross your sleeping hutch, And the village sleeps away, streets emptied of the crowds, And the moons do balefully glare through the nightly clouds, And the graveyard's people rest, we hope, in eternal sleep, Listen and you'll hear the whispered tap of the footsteps creep, Then pray you'll never feel the Worm King's awful touch."

Hi all, Atvelonis here with yet another slightly late update. I would say that it's been a relatively slow week, were it not that we've still been getting a huge amount of new content. Anyway, let's get to it!
TES news[]
- After teasing the release back in July, ZeniMax just released the "Gold Edition" of The Elder Scrolls Online on Steam and elsewhere. The Gold Edition includes the base game, some vanity items, and all four of the major DLCs (Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood) for a total of $59.99. For players who already have the base game, they also released a "Guilds and Glory" DLC pack, which includes only the four major DLCs. This can be purchased in the Crown Store for a total of 5,500 Crowns, or $39.99. You can read the full update here.
Wiki news[]
- As I'm sure we've all predicted, Wikia has been getting high levels of criticism on their blog announcing Discussions, in which they announced that the product would be replacing the Forums at some unspecified point in the future.
- While the petition to stop the feature is unlikely to have much of an effect, remember that you are not voiceless. Please, if you have any complaints/feedback about Discussions or any of Wikia's other products, send them an email (or several emails) here. Wikia has repeatedly told me that they appreciate our thoughts on their products, so if you hate a specific feature then please explain your opinion to them!
- I'm also going to point out that Discussions is currently a very poor replacement for our Forums, for a number of reasons. In addition to the obvious lack of features, the userbase has little to no understanding of the main wiki and as such the Discussions would be an inadequate place to host advanced policy conversations. We are currently brainstorming the advantages/disadvantages of various solutions, but it seems likely that we will revert to the ancient archived forums from years ago for CTs.
- CarloV3r recently added audio quotes to every NPC from Oblivion, Shivering Isles, and Knights of the Nine. He is currently working on doing the same for Skyrim and its DLCs, Dawnguard and Dragonborn.
- Carlo also wrote a new blog on how to extract audio files most efficiently, this time for Skyrim (his previous blog was a method designed specifically for Oblivion).
- We have been getting an obnoxious number of uploads recently (almost 400 in the past week alone). To CarloV3r, Rupuzioks, Vitgar, Legate Tallhart, Lanieriloo, Alma J Wetzker, and everyone else who has been uploading lately, thank you for your hard work uploading so many files. Keep them coming!
- Also, Flightmare moved several of the Portal pages to the
Portal
namespace (from theProject
namespace), for better Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Moot[]
There was no moot this week, as has been the case lately. If there's something you'd like to talk about, don't hesitate to sign up on the project page.
That's about all I have for this week, folks. I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend, and as always, happy editing! ―Atvelonis (talk) 01:45, September 19, 2016 (UTC)
