Is there anything regarding file sizes (particularly for images)?[]
Looking around the images uploaded to this site, I always see a bunch of files larger than they need to be. I've noticed some reach upwards of 2, 3, or even 4MB, and for some reason it bothers me. If some people have a slower Internet connection or a plan with a very limited usage cap, these larger images could prove to be a bit of a problem. It's especially a problem if the image is meant to be informational (i.e., an overhead view of a maze to show the correct path to take). Any info on this? Hypute (talk) 02:49, April 29, 2015 (UTC)
- Larger file size means the picture has the highest quality. If a file is only a couple hundred kilobytes, lots of graphical detail has been lost. So the files with a high file size are good for the wiki because they're very high quality (aka, they were saved in PNG to preserve all quality).
- If you see a low quality pic in JPG, it's not good quality and needs to be replaced. File size is irrelevant anyway, because MediaWiki deals with thumbnails quite well on its own and a policy on the size of a file would be ridiculous and useless. The upload form disallows files above 10MB anyway, so there's no real reason to introduce a policy on such things.
- I noticed you compressed a PNG file, there's no real reason to do this and I would not advise going around compressing the images, as it will lose quality. I compared the two pics and your compressed version had a small colour difference compared to the original. --Sajuuk talk | contribs | Channel 07:44, April 29, 2015 (UTC)
- Alright. After I did that particular file, I had my doubts and checked here quickly and found nothing on it. Other wikias I've been on are kind of uptight about making sure their images are as small as possible, so it became a bit of a habit for me. I'll revert that image and not bother with it anymore. - No worries, some wiki's think they should compress files because there are disk space limits, which is a poor argument as Wikia doesn't have any issues with space. The limit of 10MB for file uploads negates much point in actually compressing files, so they should be as large as possible (not insanely large, but about 2-3MB is good) for the best quality. --Sajuuk talk | contribs | Channel 18:43, April 29, 2015 (UTC)

ESO Screenshots on Consoles[]
The article lists a few ways to take screenshots on a computer, but no mention of taking screenshots on consoles. I figured it should be noted that in The Elder Scrolls Online, in the video options menu, there's a "Screenshot Mode" option that hides the UI.
