The Reachmen at Jackdaw Cove are corrupting the spriggans and transforming them into monstrous lurchers.

Walkthrough[]
In Jackdaw Cove, you will find a woman named Wyress Shannia alongside a spriggan. Shannia will tell you that this is the last spriggan left in Jackdaw Cove; the Reachmen have corrupted all the others into Lurchers, and the poison is already running through this one's veins. She will tell you that she needs heartwood from inside the Lurchers' bodies to ease this spriggans's suffering, or the much rarer Pure Heartwood to save the creature's life. You can now choose whether to search for the regular heartwood or the pure heartwood.
If you chose to just ease the spriggan's pain, [?]. If you chose to save its life, head out west and hunt some lurchers. Not all of them will carry the Pure Heartwood, so you will have to kill quite a bunch of them. Once you have three pieces of Pure Heartwood, head back to Wyress Shannia and she will mix it into a poultice to cure the spriggan. Give the poultice to the spriggan and it will return to good health. Then talk to Wyress Shannia and she will thank you, but will also ask you to get revenge for the deaths of all the other spriggans.
The witchman who is transforming the spriggans has an altar on the island to the west. Your task is to head there and kill him, as well as destroy the altar. Head there and set fire to the altar, and the witchman Kaenach will attack you. Kill him, then head back to Shannia to finish the quest.
