Walkthrough[]

SpiritRavagers

A spirit released from their curse.

This quest be started by talking to Parmtilir outside the ruins, or by going to Telenger directly. Telenger will be in the camp near the ruins; there is also a copy of the lorebook Why Don the Veil? in the south of his camp, so be sure to pick that up. Telenger will tell you that some of his team have gone into the ruins looking for something called the Mallari-Mora, but they have not come back. He will task you with finding out what happened to them.

Head northeast. Along the way, you will run into a woman named Sirinque, who will give you the quest "An Act of Kindness." That quest takes place in the same area as this one, so it can be efficient to do both simultaneously. Further northeast, you will find Andewen and some other mages. The mages are crafting a barrier of some sort. Speak with Andewen and she will tell you that some of her men were taken by the ghosts, probably to the undercroft. She will tell you that in order to enter the ruins proper, you need two runes that together form a key. One of these, the Rune of Xarxes, is in the structure just up the hill to the west. For the Rune of Magnus, head to the east side of the ruins.

Once you have both of the runes, head to the undercroft, which is northeast of where you found the Rune of Magnus. There, speak with Andewen and she will use the runes to unlock the door. Head in and proceed through the hallway; you will find one of the researchers, Meldil, a bit ahead. He will tell you that a man called Uricantar has trapped the other researchers and is trying to open a portal to Aetherius using the Mallari-Mora. Your task now is to release or kill the researchers to prevent this from happening. They will be in the two northern rooms of the ruins.

You will now have the option to either kill the researchers, or to enter the spirit realm and rescue them. If you choose the latter option, you will need to enter an Aetherial Gateway in order to leave the Spirit Realm.

Once all the researchers are either dead or freed, head back to Andewen and tell her you have freed everyone. She will thank you and ask you to put an end to Uricantar. Uricantar will be in the south of the ruins, in the Inner Sanctum. You will run into a projection of his as you enter; speak with him and he will tell you that he intends to just trap new people after he has killed you, and he will taunt you to come deeper into the ruins and face him. Head to the big southern chamber and you will find Uricantar there along with Thundermaul; both will be hostile. Once you have killed them, take the Mallari-Mora from Uricantar's body.

Head outside and take the Mallari-Mora to Telenger to finish the quest.
