Walkthrough[]

After completing "The Hound's Plan," the Silvenar will tell you that he and his advisors have been captured by the Drublog Clan at Jathsogur. He will ask you to free his surviving advisors, Ambassador Raen and Ambassador Sariel, so that together you may devise a plan to free him.

Head into the Drublog stronghold and to the longhouse in the northwest. Inside, you will find the ambassadors in the room left of the entrance. They will tell you that the Drublog were aided by some monster that reeked of sulfur, and that they used a book to drain the Silvenar's power. Your next mission is to find that book, the Ritual of Unbinding. It is in the northeast of the stronghold; follow the path until you reach a shrine guarded by Orulu the Ogrim; the book will be on the altar. Pick it up, then speak with Sariel. She will tell you that the Drublog used a runestone to drain the power from the Silvenar, and she thinks that you will need that runestone to restore him. The runestone is on the other side of the stronghold; all the way in the south. It will be guarded by the Ogrim Neechar.

Once you have the runestone, talk to Raen. He will suggest hiding in the southern longhouse while you figure out how to use the runestone. This longhouse is south of the one where you found the ambassadors; head there and talk to the ambassadors. They will tell you that you will have to sacrifice one of them to free the silvenar, and they will both give reasons why it should be them and not the other. This sacrifice will turn the runestone into the Rune Key of Malacath. If you sacrifice Raen, Sariel will give you a spirit totem that will fight alongside you as well as heal you until the end of the mission. If you sacrifice Sariel, [?].

Whatever you choose, talk to the survivor and they will mention seeing rays of light from the towers surrounding the main building. The binding stones you need to destroy to free the Silvenar are there; head up the towers and use the Rune Key of Malacath to destroy the stones. Once you have destroyed all four, an apparition of the Silvenar will appear, and he will tell you that his prison is in the ofrtress on the hill. Fight your way in and enter the chieftain's chambers. Head downstairs and you will find the Silvenar lying on the ground. Talk to him and he will tell you that he will need time to recover all the magic the binding stones stole from him, and that you will have to protect him during that time. Several waves of Drublog soldiers will come down the stairs while te Silvenar is recovering, including Chief Nagoth and his pet Senche, Belaraam.

Once all are defeated, speak with the Silvenar again. He will create a portal out of Jathsogur; head out, then speak with the Silvenar again to finish the quest and start the next one, "A Wedding to Attend."
