Theodor Gorlash is an eccentric man claiming to be from High Rock, that appears in the Town after the Fugitive completes "Rescuing the Townsfolk." He can be seen standing next to the main gate of the Town. However, if a shop is constructed on the lot he normally stands by, he will move to the corner lot directly to the left of the top of the front left steps.

The Lair of the Sorcerer-KingEdit

Theodor will ramble about the Sorcerer-King, but not provide any new information.

After speaking to him for the first time, he will provide access to the Abyss game mode, a neverending dungeon filled with enemies for the Fugitive to explore.

Character customizationEdit

Theodor will allow the player to alter their appearance, race, and gender if they so wish to, for the price of 50 BladesGem.

"At long last, we meet again for the first time! Such an unexpected - and yet carefully planned - encounter! Are you not glad to find that we are in the same place at the same time?"

I'm sorry, have we met before? "We have, and have not. Don't worry if you don't remember me; I can remember for the both of us."
That makes no sense. "That's what makes this place so special, you see? Think of all the possibilities! Or don't - you'll go mad! Oh, but where are my manners! Please allow me to introduce myself..."
Sure. What's your name again? "My name...oh, it's on the tip of my tongue! No, wait...I swallowed it. Mmh, delish! That's okay, I'll just come up with a new name. An even better one!"
You're insane... "Me? Nooo...well, maybe. Does it really make a difference? Don't answer that. A new name comes."
"I am Theodor Gorlash, from High Rock, but also from here - wherever "here" is. I like to travel without moving, to taste without eating, and to dream without sleeping."
You really are loony. "The word you're looking for is "eccentric.""
Same difference. "Is it really, Fugitive (Player name)?"
How do you know my name? "Sorry, come again?"
How do you know my name is Fugitive (Player name)? "Ah, so that is where I know you from! This actually is our first encounter, when I learned your name for the very first time... Glad we could settle this, we can now move on to other topics. There is a trivial matter we must discuss before anything else, one of vital importance! The old crypt entrance where you used to play with your friends...Have you been there since your return?"
Not yet. "It now leads to a never-ending series of rooms and corridors, both real and unreal at the same time. I call it "the Abyss." This Abyss appears to be unlike any place I've ever seen, and this interests me greatly! You should go explore it and then tell me what you find..."
We'll see.
How do I visit this "Abyss"? "Oh, that's very easy. Let me explain using an arcane visualization spell!"
I've had enough of this... "Have you, Fugitive (Player name)?"
Character customization

"Do you have a question for me?"

I want to change my looks. "Sure. Are you ready?"
I am. "Okay, here we go!"
Not yet. "That's fine. I've got all the time in the world. Literally."
Not right now. "Oh, you'll be back..."
A Tale of Two Brothers

"Do you have a question for me?"

What do you know about the Sorcerer-king? "There are two types of people: those who want to rule the world, and those who just want to destroy it. The Sorcerer-king's problem is that he could never quite decide between the two. That's what eventually led to his defeat. He won't be as careless this time."
The Lair of the Sorcerer-King

"You look like you have something new to ask me..."

I do, it's about... "No, no, let me's about that ravishingly stern Thalmor Justiciar who just arrived in town, isn't it? You want to know if she finds you attractive, is that it?"
No, it's not. "Well good, because she doesn't. What did you want to know?"
Where to find the Sorcerer-King. "Oh, I can't tell you anything about that. Or at least I won't. It's more fun watching you try to figure it out yourself."
Show: A Snake in the Grass

"Ah, here comes the hero of this story! What is it this time? An artifact to unearth? A monster to vanquish? A repetitive task to fulfill?"

There's a Greencap spy in town. "But of course! The bandits! I had almost forgotten about them. A story with a twist! But I shouldn't spoil the ending."
Can you help me or not? "Sorry, I can't. I wish I could, but that would be cheating."

  • "Over here, friend!"
  • "Shhh, he's coming this way..."
  • ""One day I'll go home...or not.""

  • His name is an anagram of "Lord Sheogorath." Furthermore, his hairstyle, facial hair, yellow eyes, and speech patterns are similar to those of Sheogorath as well, and his voice actor also matches the one used by the Sheogorath in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Additionally, the official "The Elder Scrolls" Twitter account refers to Theodor as Sheogorath.
