  • This page describes the Bosmer's settling on the shores of Valenwood in a different way than most historical records describe. It says that the Bosmer (or Aldmer/Altmer) of the time wanted to be free of the main-stream way of life on Alinor (or the Summerset Isles) and instead wanted to live a life of simplicity in the forest and because of this left their home of their own accord, however, in texts that I have read in alot of lore articles and in-game tomes it describes the Aldmer/Altmer landing on the shores of the province in ancient times and leaving some of their own voluteering peoples behind so that they would have ties to the Tamrielic mainland when in a time of need (this would explain the supposed pact of old that they made which gave the Thalmor the right to annex Valenwood at the beggining of the Aldmeri Dominion's revival). In my opinion the latter tale is more likely due to the lore behind it but what do you think?

    • I would agree more with the latter, I think the wiki page is different now and does indeed include the latter story. Also one thing to consider, in the book Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi, it says Azura changed the 'forest people' into the first Khajiit, and we can assume that would have been the bosmer, further evidence to this is that some Khajiit look identical to bosmer. For this to be the case, it's more likely that they've been on the mainland since ancient times.

Also sorry for messaging on such an old post, I didn't realise how old it was till after the first post haha

By Azura perhaps you meant Y'ffer: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Words_of_Clan_Mother_Ahnissi

But I acknowledge the similar values between the Bosmer and the Kajit, just as much as I see similarities between Kajit and Argionians for having various forms depending on external events at the moment of their births, and the same way I see both Argonians and Bosmer treatings some kinds of Trees as people with rights.

    • Been awhile since I read Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi but I thought it said Aruza changed the bosmer to Khajiit? I'll have to re-read it but anyway moving on, I think there's links between Argonians and bosmer in terms of their views on trees however I think it stems from different thinking, like I don't think argonians worship trees as such it's more just the Hist who happen to be trees, if that makes sense?
