  • Hello, guys... So, I'm a werewolf, and I just contracted ataxia! I'm like "what just happened?", is this  a "common" bug or something like it? Will the desease affect me in ways that it shouldn't or something like that?

    Thank you!

    • It apparently happens. 100% resistance to disease still gives you a small chance to catch one, I was a vampire and have caught a disease as well as been poisoned

    • Well, the 100% disease resistance is infallible in one case for werewolves--You cannot catch Sanguinaris Vampiris (becoming a vampire). Any other disease has a tiny chance of being caught, particularly from traps. I have gotten one from a trap as a werewolf, but never from an animal. It may be a bug, or just a coding oversight. Or neither.

    • go to your ACTIVE POWERS within the magic if anything is highlighted red then drink a potion of healing or cure poison and your current problem should go away.

werewolves are naturally immuned to all poisons

    • its common and is usually caught from traps the truth is you only have a 99percent resistance cause there is still a chane you can get it and werewolves aren't immune to poison

    • I was a werewolf too. Happened a few times I caught a disease, but only with high level monsters, like the big spiders in some quests. But it didtn affect me much at all and the dissease dissapeared soon. Sometimes it seemed like I wasnt affected, even thought it still showed me sick (affected, screen turns green-/blue-like). I cant truly comfirm this 100%.

    • poison darts from a trap near a chest, spiders or any other source, your werewolf blood heals you after a short time. besides the woman in whiterun always says you look as if you have "ATAXIA" this disease is strictly a reference within the game and something you cannot actually acquire or contract

    • Promethius is incorrect, you can contract ataxia... She just happens to say it looks like you have it wether or not you do.

    • I think, perhaps, you installed the oldest 1.9 patch, 1.9.26.08? It's a beta version. There's a bug in this patch, no matter you're a werewolf or not, sometimes you load a game and you contract a disease. If you're using this version, just update as the latest version fixes it.

    • This has also happened to me, and permanently. I fixed it by reloading a save before I contraced it, as potions and shrines could not help.... Hope u dont have this problem

    • not sure what disease everyone is contracting, cause as a werewolf you are immune to all diseases. Have been a werewolf for over two years (skyrim time) and the only thing I cannot get is restful sleep due to werewolf blood. There is a potion simply called "cure poison" which all diseases are derived from, this should cure you.

    • Once I got the Rattles as a werewolf.

    • Activating any shrine also cures all diseases, except Sanguinare Vampiris & Lupis-(whatever that causes you to become a werewolf).

    • Although a Werewolf has 100% resistance to disease the effectiveness probably caps at a about 85% like all the other resistances. Thats why very ocasionally someone will still catch a disease.

    • Unfortunately my werewolf also contracts diseases including sanguinaris vampiris.  It's a rather annoying bug since one of the things that originally attracted me to the werewolf lifestyle was the supposed immunity to disease.

    • Yeah,it's strange.I often get Ataxia from traps.I don't think it does anything,though.

    • Sadly, werewolves and vampires are not impervious to sickness, but they do have some resistance. However, if you contract vampirism as a werewolf, then that's a problem.

    • haha i had beast form and vampire lord becauseof that bug

    • At first, I thought the OP was talking about werewolves being able to spread lycanthropy in the same way that vampires can spread vampirism.  *sigh*  Sometimes I really miss Morrowind.

    • I'm actually having an issue in a similar manner. My character is a werewolf through and through, yet he has NONE of the buffs or resistances that he should listed in the active effects. Is there a way to fix this?

        Loading editor
    • If your on a console reload if you can and try getting it again, on a PC i think the command -

      player.addspell 000A1A3E

      Might give the active effects.

    • I actually went ahead and cured myself of lycanthropy, then immediately talked to Aela to get it back. All my buffs were back. I believe it may be because I played around with the RaceMenu mod too freely, and may have wiped them. It's all fixed now, though. Thanks any ways! I'll remember that command if it ever happens again.

    • Altering some things using the showracemenu command can remove some effects, and level out your health magicka and stamina stats.

    • And here I am, a Werewolf with: -Ataxia -Brain Rot -Rattles -Bone Break Fever -RockJoint Good God, I'm glad this is normal.

    • Original post:

Im a Werewolf catching diseases is this a bug?

      Later:

"Not sure what diseases your talking about because your immune to disease....."

ME: Seriously...like..do you comprehend the English language? I mean...you sure are special...HE KNOWS hes supposed to be immune. You take too many warhammers to the head or something?

      I digress:

Azuraknight is correct with the first post, resistance caps.

Wrong with the post after, using "addspell" command will still add the effect even if resistance was 100%

You do realize that RockJoint is an innate characteristic, right?
