I have been using the TIM (Toggle Immortal Mode) console command (which basically never lets the player die) to avoid having to retry every combat situation I underestimate. However, NPC's finishing moves are still executed when I am at low health and one of them has recently taken off my pretty head. I am now a living dead man and no matter how often I reload the game, it is not coming back.
Starting a new game or loading a save before the incident logically fixes it, but I had already made a lot of additional progress before noticing that I was still lethally injured. At first, I had assumed that a reload of my appearance like a fast-travel would fix it.
I would eternally love (optional) anyone who gives me a fix for this. I am willing to use the console and edit files, but I'd rather not use any mods or patches (for whatever reason that may be necessary).
For any missing important information, please ask.
What about the resurrect command? I'm not sure if it works on the player character and what possible side effects it might have but in my experience the NPC gain back their head. "Resurrect 1" should keep the current inventory but you must of course save before trying this.
What about dying? Sometimes those damn ice spikes get stucked on my character and won't leave me even if I save and reload. After the death (and obviously a reload from a save after this) my Dovahkiin will be free of any stuck projectiles. Could this work for the rather hilarious head issue also?
I did think about resurrect it maybe worth a try (i think you'll have to swing the camera round to target yourself) but 'technical' your not dead. Not sure about dying it would be the same as loading a save when you turm the game on, but again its worth a try.
My I suggest wearing a full face helmet, such as Ebony, or Steel Plate, until you get your "little" issue :P. Well turn off the mod and run head (XD) long off the collage of Witerhold and fall to your brutal death, then maybe it'll be back after you respawn.
Does anybody know a way to make a save file comprehensible and possibly editable? I might find a part there, where I could trigger headless mode off. Or if anybody already has an idea of exactly what I need to change, please post away.
I searched in other forums and found all the replies are "load a game before decapitation and contintue to play". If you are looking for a way to edit the save files, you can check the nexus page for a tool or something. I don't know whether the creation kit can do this.
I am wearing the arch-mage's robes and the dragon preist mask Nahkriin and I am a high elf. I have Dawnguard so I tryed talking to that lady in the Ragged Flaggon to change my face and it kind of worked. The hood of the robes some how glitched and I do not have a hood so when I take of the mask I do not have any ears of hair. Thats the best thing I found out to do, let me know if you guys found a better way
Someone needs to stop calling "cheater" and actually FIX THE F-ING PROBLEM! Somebody needs to DISSASEMBLE THE CODE! It is probably what will have to happen to find the (possibly encrypted?) flag in the file.
try to use this code again and go pick a fight to anyone who have weapons and skill to decapitate you,again...when he's about to take off your head(?) disable the code and let him kill you by decapitation...that's worked in an video I have seen
I had the same problem when defeating Miraak, but I was wearing a mask when I was decapitated... What I did was exited out of the game, restarted (not loading any previous save, just continuing the game), and then toggled immortal mode on and then back off again. Then I jumped off a cliff, took my mask off, and I was back to normal; hope that works for you pals.
Still seems like the only way to properly fix it is reload a save back when you had a head, you can try opening and closing the character editor (don't change anything though or your stats maybe changed). Open it with -
That might help but it could still be glitchy, you could also try the setrace command but again it may not entirely fix it.
after browsing the WHOLE FREAKING INTERNET in the research for an answer to that problem, I eventually found THE solution, on the Steam Community Forum. If you're still having a hard time finding answers, think about this, it can save lives!
Anyway, the link is below, kiss the autor, he's a genius!
Came here looking for and answer, but I think I found a better one: save the game, disable imortal mode, select your charactor and run "kill". This will immediately kill your character and force it to to respawn as it normaly would after such an execute.
All the above methods in the special skyrim edition don't work, or partially work(you can see the head only if not using headgear, plus there is no voice when you shout), the only i didnt tried is the steam forum one because the savegame editor the guy linked doens't work for the special edition. If anyone finds a working one please post it here.
