  • Question: Do dead bodies in a house you own despawn?  Also, is there any way to put clothes on a dead body? If not, can you make your spouse wear whatever you want and how?

Application: My intention is to marry Camilla Valerius, take the Golden Claw, move into a different residence, kill her and leave the body in the house forever. Then later marry Ysolda, and let her live because she appreciates kitty-cats like me.

    • You can only marry one person without console commands.

    • If you kill your spouse you can remarry.

    • Do you have mods that allow that?

    • Only PC mods allow you to remarry. I saw a really odd video once someone had made a serial killer house using mods, the shelves had severed girls heads aranged on them and the bodys were posed around the house.

EDIT - I don't recomend watching it but the video is here

No you can't, on consoles and only on PC only with console command or mods.

    • AzuraKnight is right. i have Skyrim for all 3 systems and have attempted to remarry even after a giant smashed my wife's face in *i was laughing so hard when i saw it*, i tried to remarry and its a no go. the console command is the only way unless you got your hands on a mod that allows you to remarry.

Well, a couple of dawnguard hunters came after me and followed me into Breezehome, I killed them there and they've been there for a while.

Also, only if you're playing for PC, can you make any follower or NPC wear whatever you want, with no hassle, all through console or mods.

There is another method which, if you married a follower who uses mage gear, light armor or heavy armor, if you give them a better piece of their respective armors, they will wear it or just a better piece of her current gear.

For example, if you give Lydia Daedric Armor, then she will wear it, but if you give her light armor that does not have a higher rating that her normal steel armor then she won't wear it.

    • oh andAzuraKnight, that serial killer house isnt a mod. If you look closly he got a bunch of ppl to attack him in his own house then used the decapitate ability and then placed the bodies and heads everywhere. I did this in the Oblivion game, its super easy.

Items can be stored in dead bodies, but they will not show as equipped or change their appearance.

    • My brothers PC married by accident Aela and then sacrificed her and now can't remarry

    • Q 1- No. Q 2- Yes, but it involves taking off the dead NPC's clothes and putiing different clothes on them. (Then resurrecting them and go in/ out of your house) Q 3 - Not sure.

Also, if you kill Camilla (Like I did on accident) the only way to re-marry is through console commands.

Yeah, without console commands on pc, you cannot remarry on any valid console (I.e. Xbox, Playstation, nintendo switch) you are stuck with the one you married. As maramal said "Now and forever". Sorry bud.
