  • Does anyone know if the spell absorption feat granted by the atronach birthsign negates the damage caused by absorbed magicka?. Im trying to make a redguard, but im not sure which sign to give him (warrior or atronach).

    • Yeah if you absorb the spell it has no effect on you, i use that sign alot in Oblivion and Morrowind the annoying thing is if you prey at an altar to cure a desease sometimes you just absorb the blessing and don't get cured.

    • I was wondering if this sign would be good for a fighter-type to give them an edge against spell casters.  How does it work, is it a 50/50 chance to absorb the spell?

    • Yeah pretty much a 50/50 chance, its very handy inside Oblivion gates as there are plenty of spells being fired at you by Daedra and the are turret things (?) firing magic at you too all of that has a chance of just being absorbed. It can be good for melee types Redguard and Orc especially as they already have a good boost to their attack without a sign like the Warrior.

    • I'll second what Azura said, I'm in the process of making a run through with an Orc, under a custom class that I call "The Hell Knight"-with the Ultimate goal of becoming nearly untouchable in Melee and Magic combat. Think of it as the Crusader, but stripped of many of the useless skills and reinforced with Alteration to absorb more damage alongside Heavy Armor, Block, and Blunt. Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, and Hand to Hand to round it out. Beyond that, it's Idential to the typical Crusader in every other respect
