  • Okay guys bear with me here but I think I'm onto something. So on my new phone I downloaded this app so I can read all the TES books. I'm starting with Daggerfall's books and I'm currently in the King Edward series but book seven tells about how Moraelyn got his blade, heres the line thats interesting though:

"...it's a map to the hiding place of the best blade ever made. Says there's a spell on it so that if you hit your opponent, you get as much heal as he gets hurt..."

And later Moraelyn says, when speaking about the blade:

"...If that's not ebony, I'm a wood elf..."

I think that the Ebony Sword of the Vampire that either General Tulius or Ulfric Stormcloak gives you during the quest Reunification of Skyrim or Liberation of Skyrim (respectively) is this famed blade wielded by no other than the Dark Elf King Moraelyn.

Read at least this seventh part in the King Edward series and give me your comments.

    • I thought the blades given by Ulfric and Tullius were levelled. They aren't?

Also,"of the Vampire" is merely a name given to weapons with Drain Health enchantment.Like with "of Storms" with shock enchanted weapons.

    • He actually gave me a Glass sword. it's level dependent. Sorry to burst your bubble.

    • Damnit.. I've only ever gotten Ebony swords on both sides every time. Weird, I must have been around the same levels every time I completed those quests. And Sky I know its just a generic thing, when I said this I was thinking that you got an Ebony Sword every time and I just got to thinking when I read the book that this sword must have some kind of backstory if its special and given in the same manner every time. And seeing as how Moraelyn's sword was from Skyrim I was just thinking that it somehow wound up in either Ulfric's or Tulius' hands and then it was passed onto the Last Dragonborn as kind of a cool little secret bit by Bethesda... Thanks for ruining it though guys... Thanks... I'm gonna go cry now ;_; Really thought I had something. Haha just kidding its all good. But honestly wasn't it a good thought if it wasn't a level dependent blade? I did all that research and I guess I completely missed that.. :/ Oh well..

    • Yeah, that would be cool. It could be though, Ebony has the largest level pool, They just made it LV dependent so as to not ruin the game for lower levels.

Iron- 1-5 Steel- 6-11 Dwemer- 12-15 Elven- 16-17 Orcish- 18-21 Glass- 22-28 Ebony- 29-56 Daedric- 57-81. see? Ebony is most likely.

About that... I'm doing The Civil War questline early, so I'm probably going to get an Orcish or glass sword.
